A Weekend Full of Good Food, Dance and Music at Upcoming Romanian Food Festival

The Romanian Food Festival is the largest and oldest biannual festival in the Washington DC area dedicated to Romanian food, music, art and culture.

Every festival, the ladies community prepare authentic Romanian food using recipes passed down from generations to generations. The festival also includes live music and folk dance performances, raffle drawings, a marketplace with Romanian books, jewelry, icons etc, various activities for children and a folk exhibit where visitors can learn more about Romanian history, folk clothing, pottery, icons and more.

“The Romanian-American community in the Washington DC area is grateful to have the opportunity to share the Romanian culture and traditions as a part of the great US melting pot," states Emil Simionov, Vice-President of the Board of Saint Andrew Romanian Orthodox Church.

The first Romanian Festival originated as a small one day festival in 2005 organized by the Holy Cross Romanian Orthodox Church community. A new location in Potomac Maryland was acquired in 2005 for the building of the Saint Andrew Romanian Church to fulfill the growing numbers of parishioners. October of 2011 marks the first two day Romanian Food Festival organized at the Saint Andrew Romanian Church location. As it continues to grow with over 2000 attendees every edition, this year marking the first ever three day festival.

Stuffed cabbage rolls, stuffed grape leaf rolls, stuffed vegetarian rolls, mititei, sheep pastrami, pasta, sausages, soups, delicious homemade desserts, Romanian wine and beer.



Orthodox arrays, icons, old manuscripts, folk outfits and ceramics exhibit outside and inside the Saint Andrew Romanian Orthodox Church.


Moonbounce, petting zoo, pony rides, glittering tattoo and pop corn. 


Adults $5, Kids $3

One time fee all weekend.
