Photo Montage: International Festival at B-More’s “School of Many Nations”

The motto of the John Ruhrah Elementary School in Baltimore (MD) reflects the community is serves: “A School of Many Nations”. Today, the school celebrated its cultural diversity with an International Festival.

Starting with a young children’s parade and dance of nations, the afternoon was filled with cultural dance performances, games and traditional foods. Festival DC headed north to Baltimore at the request of Danitza Leon, a native of Bolivia who is now a dance instructor in Baltimore. She was one of the organizers of the festival and choreographer of many of the dance performances, including the children’s welcoming dance.

A special appearance was made by Bolivian folkloric dance troupe, Sambos de Corazon -USA. The group traveled from Northern Virginia just for this event and performed their usual energetic dances to the delight of both young and old.

Thank you Danitza … it was a great festival promoting multi culturalism. Great educational experience for the young people, and of course, a time to witness great dancing by your group and the Sambos.
