Despite First Day Rain, 11th Annual Asian Festival Draws Thousands

The 11th Annual Asian Festival took place yesterday and today at Rosecroft Raceway in Ft. Washington, MD, and despite a steady downpour on Saturday, thousands made their way to the popular end of summer event for a fun time while witnessing non-stop displays of various Asian cultures.

The theme of this year’s festival was “Experience, Explore & Enjoy”. Mini villages were set up featuring the cultures of China, Thailand and the Philippines. Each country provided an opportunity for festival-goers to enjoy and learn about the unique music, traditional cultural performances, food, fashion, handicrafts, and more of each country.

The festival has been billed as the largest Asian Festival in the Mid-Atlantic area.
