Fiesta DC Latino Festival Draws Thousands, Highlights Latino Pride

Fiesta DC Latino Festival was a big success once again, drawing over 180 thousand people to a portion of Pennsylvania Avenue, NW Sunday afternoon in our Nation’s Capital in a celebration of Hispanic culture during Hispanic Heritage Month. Festival-goers were treated to stage performances on multiple stages, an array of food choices, merchandise vendors and more. The biggest hit of the festival for many was the early morning parade along Constitution Avenue, NW featuring several folkloric dance groups from Bolivia as well as groups from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. All groups represented the pride and heritage of their countries by wearing traditional costumes and clothing.

The festival is presented by Fiesta DC, Inc., a non-profit organization which sponsors and supports many events throughout the year, everything from talent shows,Thanksgiving baskets and a Christmas toy and coat giveaway to members of the Latino community. The Latino Festival is what Fiesta DC is best known.
