Fiesta DC Parade and Festival a Celebration of Hispanic Heritage

The annual Fiesta DC parade and festival were held this past weekend in downtown DC bringing a culturally rich and family oriented good time to all. It was part of many Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations in the area throughout September.
Fiesta DC, Inc. is a non-profit organization which sponsors several events throughout the year in our Nation’s Capital including neighborhood talent shows, Thanksgiving basket contributions and Christmas toy and coat giveaways to the less fortunate of the Latino community. It is the Latino Festival, however, for which Fiesta DC is best known.

Fiesta DC celebrated its 45th year in 2016 as it continues to witness a growing Latino community in the district. It is considered the fastest growing ethnic group in the District of Columbia and constitutes over 10% of the DC population.

Added to that is a large Latino community in nearby Northern Virginia, in particular a very large and culturally rich Bolivian community in Arlington County.

FestivalDC was on hand during Saturday’s parade and captured these images of all those who participated:
