Experiencing Turkey: 14th Annual Turkish Festival Attracts Thousands

The American-Turkish Association of Washington DC (ATA-DC) presented the 14th Edition of the Annual Turkish Festival Sunday afternoon along Pennsylvania Avenue just blocks from the White House in our Nation’s Capital. The family-oriented event offered a day of free activities including dance and music performances, authentic cuisine, fashion and arts & crafts.

The award-winning festival brought together several Turkish-style artists, artisans and vendors. It annually draws tens of thousands of festival-goers from the DC area and beyond to enjoy delicious Turkish food and traditional Turkish coffee, to shop at the Turkish Bazaar and to enjoy the non-stop stage performances.

In light of recent acts of terrorism in Turkey and a failed coup attempt, the festival held a “Line Dance for Peace”.

“We are all one and today we are celebrating peace and solidarity,” former ATA-DC President and current member Demet Cabbar told the audience in welcoming statements.
