Arlington, VA – Join us for the 14th Annual “Artful Weekend” comingto the historic 1902 Hendry House at Ft. C.F. Smith in Arlington. A popular pre-holiday event in the Arlington community, the weekend art show and sale features the work of 40 Arlington-based artists, and includes paintings of many genres, ceramics, sculpture, artists cards, unframed works and more. Great for holiday shopping!
 
The Opening Reception will be held on Friday, November 18 from 6-8pm; come meet the artists and enjoy light refreshments in the historic Hendry House. The show will also be open 10am-5pm Saturday, November 19 and 12 noon-4pm on Sunday, November 20. Free and open to the public.

Focus Gallery: “Horses of a Different Color” Show
Dates: November 1-25, 2016
Opening Reception:  Friday, November 4, 5-8pm

During November, Gallery Underground features the colorful imagery of Meg Mackenzie whose artwork is based on a deep love of horses. Mackenzie is an abstract painter whose award-winning work has become a popular favorite in the DC-metro area.
 

The artist says “For the last few years, I have dedicated my artwork towards celebrating the majestic power and beauty of the horse,” and describes her favored subject as “bold, muscular, elegant dancers, so sensitive and aware in their environment as well as both wild and gentle.”
 
In addition to a new all-media Members Show in the Main Gallery, also featured are the witty sculptures of Trinka Roeckelein and eye-catching jewelry of Kat Jamieson.

 

Painting Uncorked – November 17, 2016

Create a piece of art while sipping wine! No experience required. Taught by Cyan Studio Underground artist Meg MacKenzie, these 2-hour classes will result in an original piece of art you can take home and enjoy.
