Koji Fukada (hospitalité) directs this coming-of-age drama and winner of the Montgolfiere d’or and Prix du Jury Jeune at the Nantes Three Continents Film Festival
After failing her university entrance exam, Sakuko is invited by her Aunt Mikie to go on vacation in a seaside town. During her two-week stay, she gets to know Takashi, the nephew of Mikie’s childhood friend Ukichi, and develops an attraction to him.

Kiki Sugino is a Japanese-Korean actress, producer, and director. As well as producing Au revoir l’été, she also plays the role of Tatsuko. Kiki completed her directorial debut in Taksu, which premiered at Busan International Film Festival 2014. Her second feature, Kyoto Elegy, premiered at the 2014 Tokyo International Film Festival and was nominated for Best Film.
Sugino’s most recent film, which she wrote, directed, and starred in, Snow Woman, premiered this year at the Tokyo International Film Festival.
