Students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School led a rally in our Nation’s Capital today to demand government action against gun violence. The rally attracted hundreds of thousands while “sibling” protests were held in over 800 towns and cities across the country and in other parts of the world. It came in the wake of the shooting last month at the school in Florida which left 17 people dead and others injured.

“We will use our voices to make sure our schools, churches, movie theaters and concerts and our streets become safer without having feel like prisons,” Alex WInd, a Junior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas stated in addressing the crowd.

Several students affected by gun violence throughout the country spoke.
