Libyan Embassy Honors Fallen Martyrs

Over five-hundred guests of The Libyan Embassy in Washington, DC gathered at The Westfield Marriott Inn & Conference Center in Chantilly, VA to pay tribute to those killed in the revolution to oust the brutal regime of Moammar Ghadafi.

H.E. Ambassador and Mrs. Ali Adjali also honoured many US based groups and organizations as well as individuals who played supportive roles during the revolution. Included was Matthew VanDyke, an American photojournalist who was imprisoned by the Ghadafi regime for several months, but later joined "rebel" fighters upon his release.

Many of the guests are planning trips to visit their homeland now made possible as the new government begins to take form.
