Festival DC Founder Honored by Activists for a Free Syria

Activists for a Free Syria, a Washington, DC based organization aimed at supporting peaceful demonstrations in Syria and raising awareness among Americans of the ongoing crisis in Syria, honored FestivalDC founder, George Newcomb, during a meeting Saturday evening in Falls Church, VA. Newcomb has documented weekly protests since April in front of The White House, the Russian and Chinese Embassies, Times Square in New York City, The United Nations as well as meetings and dinners. 

The honor comes on the heels of being recognized a week early by the Libyan Embassy and Ambassador Ali Adjali for documenting the Libyan-American protests as well. FestivalDC will continue to document protests in the Washington, DC area as it affects many of the communities which are part of this areas diverse population.

Saturday's meeting, hosted by AFS, was geared toward a discussion on the Syrian-American role in the Syrian Revolution. Many guest speakers addressed questions put forth by members of the Syrian-American community.
