Santi Budaya Performing Arts Group to Showcase Indonesian Dance and Music

The Santi Budaya Performing Arts Group will be giving its last performance of the 2011 season with a free, open to the public, performance at Great Falls (Va) Elementary School this coming Monday, December 12th from 3-4:30pm in the school's gymnasium.

Stemming from a 200+ year performance arts lineage directly from Java, Indonesia and co-led by the music director of the of the Indonesian Embassy in Washington, DC, Santi Budaya preserves the best of Indonesian dance culture with as diverse group of highly trained dancers, musicians, and the most lavish costumes seen in the area.

Santi Budaya presents Indonesian dances from Java, Bali, Sumatra, and other Indonesian islands, as well as new choreography that codify and express the deep classical dance roots of the troupe.   

The event is sponsored by their SACC group (the Great Falls branch of the very popular N. VA after school program). The event is being presented as an international cultural event, and as the last special event they're holding this year. To that, students and their families, school administrators and others are invited.
