Sister Jenna, director, Meditation Museum, which offers seminars and courses, including meditation and stress management, will be participating in this year’s Silver Spring Parade, along with the team who are all vegetarians from the Meditation Museum. This event, officially named the Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade, will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014, beginning at 10.00 A.M. This will be the fourth year of participation by Sister Jenna and the Meditation Museum, as they spread peace and happiness riding in their America Meditating RV through its entire route. This year’s theme will be “Being with One,” an invitation to connect to the Divine and silence the chatter of the mind. They also wish to share the message of cooking for peace by having a vegetarian item for Thanksgiving. Their Tofurkey is to live for!
“We love the community feeling and life of the Silver Spring Thanksgiving Parade! We all know that Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of year to be with family and friends and to catch up on life and learn from the unfolding stories of those we love and are challenged to love. Driving in our America Meditating RV through the route of this parade and seeing the smiling faces of everyone, from young to old, makes me appreciate how fortunate I am to belong to such a vibrant community,” said Sister Jenna. “This parade is a meaningful reminder, that the upcoming holidays and new year are quickly approaching and that we truly receive second chances to be our best.” She declares that the coming year be the year to heal relationships.”
Along with Sister Jenna and the Meditation Museum and the America Meditating RV, the lineup includes giant white dove balloons, a variety of floats and Santa’s sleigh accompanied by reindeer and elves throwing candy canes to the crowd, multiple high school marching bands, clowns, mounted police, costumed characters, fire engines, trained dogs, classic cars, and a variety of South American dancing groups. The parade will be held rain or shine and will be broadcast live on News Channel 8. The parade begins at Ellsworth Drive and Veterans Place and proceeds South on Georgia Avenue, ending at Silver Spring Avenue.
