ATA-DC to Present Music, Motion and Faith Concert Series

Ankara Hacettepe University Folk Dance Association along with acclaimed musicians Murat Gunaydin and Huseyin Gecer will join Howard University Gospel Choir in the Dance, Music and Faith Concert series to showcase how followers of different faiths find peace and comfort in dance and music in various ways. Hacettepe University Youth and Children Folklore Group – one of Turkey’s oldest and most well-known –  will present Turkey’s rich and colorful dance traditions as well as a whirling dervish performance while the Howard Gospel Choir will feature a selection of their moving gospel songs.

Granted by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and organized by the American Turkish Association of Washington, DC (ATA-DC) this project allows the two University groups to share the stage for the first time during the Turkish Heritage Month in a small number of performances for the Washington metropolitan Area audiences.
