ReVision dance company Artistic Director Shannon Quinn joins forces with Nkosinathi “Natty” Mncube, Kamynah West and Ben Levine for an evening centered on themes of individuality and community. The concert on Saturday, February 20 at 8pm and Sunday, February 21 at 4pm features three premieres that mix innovative and athletic choreography from Quinn and Mncube while fostering the creative vision of teen artist, Kamynah West.
Mncube’s work, Untitled, challenges the control material possessions have on our thoughts and actions. Budding choreographer West, who began her choreographic career in Dance Place’s Energizers program, explores her artistry through a mixture of modern and urban dance in Empowered. In Propelling Voice, stark and imaginative scenic design by Levine provides a platform for Quinn’s daring choreography, exploring the value of the arts through the perspective of youth.
