Upcoming: Free 12th Annual Washington Ukrainian Festival

WHAT: St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral will be holding their 12th annual Washington Ukrainian Festival. St. Andrew welcomes attendees of all ages, in a celebration of Ukrainian culture. Attendees will enjoy the world-renowned Ukrainian dance companies “Syzokryli” from New York and “Ukraina” from Toronto, Canada. Also, musicians from Ukraine, Canada, and the DC area will entertain the audience while they are feasting on a variety of traditional Ukrainian foods and baked goods, or shopping for unique items from the Ukrainian vendors. Activities for children include moon bounces, face painting, children’s castle, games and much more. Parking and Admission are FREE.

WHEN: Saturday, September 13th and Sunday, September 14th from 12:00 p.m.
Opening ceremonies begin at 1:00 p.m.

YOU WILL SEE: Festival attendees will experience Ukrainian culture: dance groups, musical groups, performances with traditional instruments, singers, Ukrainian artistry, and Ukrainian food.

BACKGROUND: St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral has been serving the Metropolitan DC area since 1949. It is located on eight acres of land, which includes a lake, perfect for hosting large events and their annual Ukrainian festival. This year marks the 12th successful Washington Ukrainian Festival, which is supported by the Ukrainian Embassy and local Ukrainian organizations and attended by thousands.
